Building Envelope Technician


(Full Time: 40 hours/week)

An established 15+ person architecture firm is seeking a technically inclined person with building envelope; architectural; and/or construction experience, interested in joining a team environment and willing to practice/learn the specialty of building envelope design and observations. The candidate will be required to conduct quality assurance observations independently, perform condition assessments, as well as provide technically sound graphical communication to owners and team members. The successful person will work alongside and report to a building envelope project manager. Work will involve utilizing knowledge of roofing, waterproofing, window and wall systems in order to investigate and design repair solutions for building deficiencies and enclosure failures.

Salary: $35,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
Tasks include but not limited to:
  • Field investigation work (must be able to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms and roofs)
  • Site observations (Quality assurance observations. Involves travel to multiple jobsites per day in the Puget Sound area)
  • Specification & report writing
  • Drafting (AutoCAD and Revit)
  • Projects include various exterior repair designs to historic, educational, commercial and governmental buildings. The ideal candidate would possess Registered Roof Observer (RRO) credentials and/or an Architecture degree (or related degree) with some field experience; be competent in AutoCAD, (Revit is a plus but not required), have a professional demeanor with a technical inclination and have the ability to sketch.
