Cornerstone and Hultz were tasked with identifying upgrades to residential amenities for the Watson Building’s c.1961 and c.1964 wings, which had limited above-ceiling access to run ducting and other system upgrades. Our team researched and proposed design solutions to upgrade all of the residential units (senior housing, memory care and assisted living) with energy[1]efficient heating and cooling and to upgrade the senior housing units with washer/dryers and dishwashers. The study sought to install these systems with the least disruption to the residents and to avoid system installations inside the courtyard/entrance to Judson Park. The solutions were proposed in four phases to achieve these goals.
