Here at Cornerstone, we believe that it is important to do our part in utilizing renewable resources in order to reduce our carbon footprint. To achieve this, on the reroofing project on Fishermen’s Terminal (Net Shed 5) 44 Washington sourced solar panels were included. After operating for an entire year, the array of solar panels produced over 16,500 kWh which was a 10% increase above the 15,000 kWh that was initially projected. With the generation of electricity from the array, Net Shed 5 has achieved Carbon Neutrality or Net Zero because 10,000 kWh is needed to power Net Shed 5 per year and the leftover energy is distributed to other areas at Fishermen’s Terminal as needed.
