Our Approach to Artificial Lighting

We seamlessly integrate artificial lighting with natural daylight to create energy-efficient, functional, and sustainable spaces. Our carefully selected fixtures and controls go beyond standard requirements, meeting lighting needs while complementing our design philosophy.

Pendant-mounted fixtures and streamlined lighting controls at elevated ceilings exemplify our innovative approach. By replacing traditional six-switch systems with two switches in classrooms, we exceed daylight switching standards. This setup incorporates 3-way switching for teaching wall lighting that enhances functionality.

Cost-effective solutions are central to our design. Fixtures in daylight zones feature integral dimming capabilities, eliminating the need for expensive remote dimmers. We select fixtures offering two-thirds uplight and one-third downlight, allowing nuanced dimming of uplight lamps while maintaining precise control of downlighting. This flexibility enables independent management of downlighting based on natural sunlight, ensuring optimal illumination of spaces.

Energy efficiency is further enhanced by occupancy sensors, which automatically turn off lights in unoccupied spaces. This thoughtful measure underscores our commitment to sustainability and resource optimization, fostering eco-conscious and well-lit environments.

Integration & Control Strategy

We design lighting systems that respond intelligently to daylight conditions and user needs. Through simplified switching layouts, integral dimming, and carefully calibrated uplight/downlight ratios, our approach delivers precise control while reducing system complexity.
