Biography
André Coppin is Managing Principal of Cornerstone Architectural Group and the firm’s building envelope lead. Both at once, which is less common than it sounds. The person running the practice is also the one on the roof.
Twenty two years in, his work concentrates on the part of a building nobody looks at until it fails. Roofs, cladding, curtain wall, plaza decks, and the joints where water eventually finds a way through. He has assessed andrepaired the envelope at Seattle City Hall, the Seattle Justice Center and the Seattle Municipal Tower, replaced the Concourse B roof at Sea-Tac International Airport, and waterproofed the plaza decks at the Washington StateHistory Museum and the East Capitol Plaza in Olympia.
His peers elected him Region V Director of IIBEC, the international body for building envelope professionals. He serves on its Board of Directors, and various other task forces.
