Elementary School 16 will be constructed on a steep wooded site with wetlands with community storm drainage facility, easements and a historic house. We are working closely with the district and local zoning and building departments to provide a new school in an established residential community. Work includes adding a school entrance onto a busy commuter road.
The steep site required an entry drive that supports both bus and vehicle traffic that avoids wetlands and forested areas. The owner is planning a future project to expand all-weather playfield into existing class 3 wetland, which will require a Public Agency and Utility Exemption (PAUE).
Due to the school district’s rapidly expanding student population, this school was designed and submitted for permit in six months: construction needed to start in early spring of 2020, and the project is on schedule for the aggressive construction start.
