McCarthy Studio

The McCarthy Studio, a 300sqft artist studio in Eastern Washington, was designed with the intent to create a space that would optimize artistic and creative ideas. The exposed beams help to keep a natural feeling and aura to the space, reflective of the rather secluded location of the property. We included east-facing high clerestory windows that allow natural light to pour into the space, providing both the best lighting conditions for artists as well as ample space for artistry to line the walls. The studio was designed with high ceilings and exposed HVAC and exhaust systems to create an open atmosphere throughout the interior of the building. On the exterior, board and batten with integrated metal panels at the corners of the studio were used for the siding. We opted for a metal roofing system, as it provided the best combination of durability and longevity for the building. The property also includes a 350sqft garage that has a shared covered entry with the studio.
